Cardinals report: Notes, quotes
--Linebacker Jordan Campbell had his Louisville career end before it truly began. The Southern Cal transfer enrolled in school last July with one year of eligibility presumably remaining, but faced questions from the NCAA about his alleged relationship with a former NFL agent.
--Running back Bilal Powell likely made himself some money during the practice week for the Senior Bowl. The star of the 2010 offense, Powell was one of the breakout performers and was the starting running back for the South squad.
SPRING SNAPSHOT
Practice priorities: The big battle will be at quarterback, where former walk-on Will Stein will be challenged by true freshman and early enrollee Teddy Bridgewater. The coaching staff will also be looking for playmakers on both sides of the ball, and to shore up some blocking and tackling fundamentals that were absent at times in 2010.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"We wanted to recruit speed and mentally and physically tough kids. We are not going to take a step backwards. We laid the foundation, and now we are going to build on it." -- Coach Charlie Strong told the Louisville Courier-Journal.
